Daddy yo!

Picture taken by the entrance to IKEA. Mascot is Modesh.

“Why daddy has to work all the time?” Ria asked me on the first night that Toni had to work nightshift. How do you answer this question of a four year old girl? After a few weeks of preparation to come to Dubai, Ria and I arrived on the day after Toni’s day off. So we really haven’t seen much of her dad. He would get up in the morning, go to work, come home in the evening, we’ll eat dinner, play a bit, and go to bed. Am sure this is not what Ria came here for. She wanted to see her dad, be with her dad. This is the most crucial time on a child’s life. But I can’t blame Toni for wanting to give us a better life. At least, with Ria and me being here, we are easing Toni’s misery, of living here all alone and no one waiting at home, IF you could call this home.

Thank God there’s P-wee. She’s been so kind to drove us around and showed us her work place at Jumeirah Beach Hotel. It was a very good break from our now-turning-out-to-be-a-routine of going to the Mall of Emirates for groceries and playing at the play place for 3€/hr.

Well, there’s a bit of looking forward to do. Toni has booked us a 2 nights 3 days stay at a resort, with an indoor water park that am sure Ria will love. Pictures will be posted as soon as.
